Quake Live open beta set to launch

PC News | Coming at you live.
id Software's free web-based title based on the blueprint set in Quake III multiplayer, Quake Live, will finally open its web browser to the gaming public next week, with the announcement that the multiplayer shooter will launch an open beta from February 24.

Those hoping to get in on the action merely need to stop by the Quake Live website from next Tuesday to watch the giblets fly.

awesome, i was never able to get my hands on an invite to the closed beta

It's not a multiplayer version of Quake III

There are a lot of differences

Hope to see you all there though, it's a great game icon_biggrin.gif

@Tom101007 - there was a topic somewhere in the forum that was about handing out invites for Quake Live Beta.

I think now the invites have closed for the open beta to launch.

It's Quake 3, just with weapon nerfs and minor adjustments. They are exactly the same bar from some of the balancing.

But yes the game is great, hope to see more players.
