Fallout 3 Broken Steel DLC problems

PC News | Broken in name, broken in digital distribution.
Just moments after the release of Fallout 3's anticipated Broken Steel DLC, reports have already surfaced that there are problems with the PC version.

According to the official Bethesda Softworks forums, after the DLC downloads an error message appears saying "Not a cryptographic message or the cryptographic message is not formatted correctly. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x8009200D)." The DLC is also supposed to be 471.6MB, yet reports are claiming the actual download size is 510MB.

Speaking to Eurogamer, Bethesda commented that they're seeing the same error and that it's in relation to a Games for Windows Live DRM Install error. Microsoft is apparently working on a fix, and more information will be released in the coming days.

In unrelated issues concerning the Xbox 360 version, Bethesda made the following statement: "The Xbox Live servers don't seem to be fully synced yet with the additional achievements. This should fix itself automatically soon. People won't lose any achievements."

Typical microsoft quality, I've seen 7 year olds program more stable apps than anything MS develop, and of course this is doubly bad since it's DRM causing the issue and not an issue with the actual game icon_sad.gif.

LOL... I'm sure some crackers know how to fix the problem! :P

The warez community could be finishing the DLC before legitimate downloaders get to play!

When they fix it maybe they can rename it to just "Steel". Thank you, and good night. Try the beef.

Yep this happend to me. Just unlocked an achievement and doesn't seem to be there when I check achievements. This is now the second time in a row for me having problems with Fallout 3 DLC.

Well the dlc seems to be playing fine for me. The problems I am having is that the achievements aren't registering. Sometimes my xbox only registers 58 achievements. And when it does register the full 64, instead of saying I have 61/64, it keeps saying I have 58/64. The 3 extra achievements i have are unlocked, and appear on the list of achievements, but it hasn't even been added to my gamerscore. Hope they can sort this out.
