The Weekend Steam - 27/06/09

PC News | Heroes clash.
This weekend, Steam is offering 50% off Zeno Clash, as well as all Heroes of Might and Magic V games and Dark Messiah Might and Magic. You can find download links and prices for all games at the bottom of this article.

Zeno Clash follows the adventures of Ghat, a man who has been banished by his brothers and must now, for some reason, journey across the forbidden desert to reach the end of the world. The game is played in a first person perspective, and is a cross between an action and fighting title. You can be taken to the download page by clicking here.

The Heroes of Might and Magic V games are strategy titles set in a world where demons are spreading chaos throughout the land. Players must flex their grey matter to raise unique hero characters and assemble a mighty army to defeat their enemies. There are a total of six campaigns stretched across over 30 missions. In case you get bored with what the single-player game has to offer, you can take the fight online in five different multiplayer modes. You can be taken to the download page by clicking here:

The demo for Trine is on there as well as a pre-order bonus for it.

Remember folks: Buying the Heroes of Might and Magic V Pack and Dark Messiah separately is USD $2 cheaper than buying The Heroes Pack.

I must admit to the shame of never having played a HoM&M game. Should I buy it without question?

^I'd look into it first. Turn based strategy title but very addictive gameplay.

Haven't got the fifth myself so may pick it up. Number 2 was ridiculously addictive back in the day.

Yes, so long as you enjoy turn-based strategy with RPG elements.

It's a pretty awesome series, and HoMM 5 is essentially just a modernised and enhanced version of HoMM3, which was probably the most popular of the series before 5 came out. Definitely a good game.

YES! I've been waiting for a Zeno Clash sale. Bought.

EDIT - Ugh, Stupid 3FL Steam mirror. Everything I don't want is quota free, everything I do isn't, then Steam will decide to download it all at once when I least expect it and kill my internet for a month.

I would strongly recommend Zeno Clash to anyone who enjoys brawlers and FPSs. At this price, it's an absolute steal!

Trine pre-order and Shadowgrounds for US$30 seems to be a good deal - (link). The only thing stopping me is that I'm worried the game might be discounted quickly or bomb out. $30 seems a lot for an indie title like this.
