Valve unveils next Team Fortress 2 update

PC News | Demoman and Soldier finally get their turn.
While cryptically teasing us over the last week, Valve has finally revealed that the next update for the PC edition of Team Fortress 2 will be arriving on 17 December and it will feature class updates for the Demoman and Soldier classes for the multiplayer shooter.

Dubbed the War update, this patch will contain the usual gamut of new weapons, maps and achievements, though Valve has put an interesting spin on this update by engaging players in a 'War' in order to receive bonus content. This war will pit Demoman vs Soldier with the objective being to kill the most of either class. Whichever class racks up the most kills over the course of the next week will be granted the "secret, exclusive seventh weapon" when the War update hits in five days time.

So if you've got a particular allegiance, why not hop into a TF2 server over the next week to ensure that your side reaps the spoils of war. Keep your eyes fixed to this space for more TF2 news over the coming days as Valve reveals more details about the War Update.

It's worth the money. They actually were selling it for $2.50 a couple months ago.

Such an easy game to pick up and play.

Yeah, great game, though the player base has no doubt shrunk.

They should have released TF3 instead of L4D2.

All the TF2 updates have been free for PC. From what I have read, Microsoft won't let Valve give away the content on Xbox Live.

there's still a fair amount of people playing, it's never to hard to find a mass of close to full servers.

That's why Valve are gonna finish all the updates on PC, then sell them all on 360 for a paltry sum. You heard it here first. icon_wink.gif

They've done it before with the Survival pack for L4D.

The real issue is that TF2 managed to fit in to 512mb BEFORE all the content updates for each class. Last I heard, they hadn't optimised the memory footprint enough to make it work for the Xbox.
