Dragon Age: Origins DLC Witch Hunt announced

PC News | Wrapping up the Origins story once and for all.
BioWare's fantasy epic Dragon Age has come a long way. Spearheading the core story in Origins with the player crafted hero Grey Warden, and supporting the world lore in the side story of Awakening, players will be able to embark on a new adventure with a new hero in Dragon Age 2 sometime in 2011. But that doesn't mean BioWare are done with Origins. Quite the opposite, in fact, with Bioware today announcing a new DLC pack that will finalise the story of the Grey Warden and his/her Origins quest.

Be warned, this DLC takes place after the end campaign found in Dragon Age: Origins, so details will spoil the end game scenario. If you're yet to play the game and do not wish to be spoiled, we advise to stop reading now.

Titled Witch Hunt, the DLC focuses on the popular character Morrigan. After players slaughtered the Archdemon, saving the kingdom from a terrible fate, the sorceress supposedly disappeared into Orlais without a trace, potentially bearing the demigod child of the player's Grey Warden should they have chosen to take part in her ritual. Now, one year later, the Wardens receive word that Morrigan has been sighted in the wilderness of Ferelden. Naturally, it is up to the player to find out if it is indeed her and why she has returned.

Supporting an imported character from Origins or Awakening, as well as a new hero from scratch, Witch Hunt will conclude the Origins story, finalising events and leaving a clean slate for Dragon Age 2. Completing the DLC will grant powerful rewards that will transfer back into the Origins and Awakenings campaigns.

Witch Hunt will be released on September 7 (the same day as BioWare's other DLC for Mass Effect 2) across PC, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3, and will be priced at 560 BioWare points, 560 Microsoft Points, and US$6.99 respectively.

I actually wouldn't mind getting this to see how Morrigan's story played out. It's a shame though that it took so long and after so many lackluster DLCs, they really burnt out my interest in the game.

I was hoping something would come of that. I will be all over this one.

I'm finishing up Awakening now so I might pick this up. That will be it though. I feel a tad burn't out

Witch Hunt is a great name for this. I'd like to give Bioware $7 just for thinking that up, so getting some DLC in addition would be pretty good.

I am definitely going to repurchase this game if a GOTY edition comes bundled with all the DLC. I sold the game because I knew I would keep purchasing the DLC but I think this is going to be cheaper in the long run.

ermmmm...not if you played as a female. :)

Still, I did like Morrigan and all her haughtiness so I'll be grabbing this one at some stage.
