Melbourne to host War World evening

PC News | Meaning complimentary drinks, folks.
A quick heads-up to our Melbourne readers - there's a bit of a shindig planned in your neck of the woods to celebrate the imminent launch of PC mech title War World (which we found pretty decent). Titled 'Old World New Games', the evening will feature a presentation or two, a chance to win a copy of the game signed by members of development team Third Wave Games (who we're told will be in attendance), and most importantly of all, COMPLIMENTARY DRINKS.

We'd imagine there'll also be the chance to have a go at the game itself, and as if all that wasn't tempting enough, there could even be the odd PALGN staff member making an appearance as well, no doubt shaming us all with a display of drunken debauchery. It's all happening from 6.30pm on Tuesday, 19 September, and is taking place at the Australian Games Innovation Centre (the Academy of Interactive Entertainment's Presentation Room), Level 8, 14 Queens Road Atari Building, opposite Albert Park Lake. That'll mean something to some of you.

Tickets are dead cheap - book before 12 September and it's $13.50 for adults, or $11.50 for concessions, while the students amongst you (full or part time) pay just $5. Book after 12 September and you'll be paying more - $16 for adults or $13 concession. More details can be found here, so get a move on, and don't forget to check out Phil's interview with the guys behind War World here and his review here.
