WoW, as it has become affectionately known, has regularly been taking over the lives of PC gamers since it was released in 2004. Success of the game has been buoyed by the expansion, Burning Crusade, and the fact the game has been translated into seven different languages.

With that in mind, it's a safe bet that 9 million is going to keep growing well into the future.
