Sam and Max Season 2 announced

PC News | Back on the air.
After the relatively successful Season One of Sam and Max it should come as no surprise today that Telltale Inc. has confirmed that Sam and Max season two is in development.

Sam and Max Season One originally debuted on GameTap and was released fifteen days later on Telltales Games' website. The series will once again appear exclusively on GameTap first but will be available 24 hours later for non GameTap subscribers.

"Season One was a great success, but it's just a starting point for us," says Telltale's CEO Dan Connors. "The episodic model presents so many opportunities to innovate and engage the audience in brand new ways. Just wait until you see what Telltale and GameTap have in store with Season Two."

"We're sticking with the dramatic structure and accessible gameplay style that are working so well, focusing on telling crazier stories, and telling them better," says Telltale's design director Dave Grossman. "You'll see some changes to the world; improvements that were born out of player feedback and our own desire to create the smoothest and most entertaining experience possible."

Awesome news. Not exactly unexpected but still very welcome.

I'm also glad to see that they've reduced the gap between the subscriber and non-subscriber releases.

Apparently they'll be making it more cohesive for people who play all the episodes, which I can only assume means some-kind of storyline tying all the S2 episodes together.

Good news, basically =)

Edit: Why the Hell did I hyphenate 'some kind' ?? *slaps self*

Well there was something like that in season one with the whole ZOMG SPOILERS 'Hugh Bliss' thing... .

Although I suppose it wasn't entirely, as you said, co-hesive icon_razz.gif

I haven't played through all of the first season yet, to be honest. I've been waiting for my Season one disc to arrive. I don't know why exactly, but I made the decision and I've stuck to it.

I just lifted that little factoid (I hate that word) about S2 from the interview thats up on 1up at the moment.

I'm keen, but I'm also lazy which kind of negates my keen-ness.

Have we seen a retail release of the first season yet? I need an adventure fix.

the DVD shipped this week, however i'm not sure if this is only for people who bought it from telltale games store, or if it's being shipped to stores as well.

if it means anything, it hasn't been classified by the OFLC yet. icon_sad.gif

my DVD is delayed because i had to order the nick-nack box too...

This only reaffirms my need to get the first season in some way, shape or form. I loved the original back in the day (except for the random bug-ups), DotT, Monkey Island and even Leisure Suit Larry (not the latest crap though).
