Spore to be playable at Leipzig

PC News | See, it really does exist.
The concept and video demos for Will Wright’s Spore have been wowing E3 viewers for a few years now. However, it was one of the more noticeable absentees from this year's showing. It seems though that this is all about to change at this month's Leipzig Games Convention.

The previously untouched sim is soon to get covered in the grubby fingerprints of games journalists at the European trade show according to Gamespot who have reported that the game will be among EA’s playable offerings come 23rd August.

Produced by the mind that brought us SimCity and The Sims, Spore is a massive undertaking in which the player is placed in control of a single cell organism and carries it through evolution, eventually taking it to space and beyond. Seven years of metaphorical blood, sweat and tears have already gone into the building of the title and latest reports show it emerging from its own primordial soup some time mid-late 2008. We'll soon get a chance to take a glimpse into whether or not all the work and time was worth it.
