Bioshock downloadable content next week

PC News | Rapturous freebies for PC and Xbox 360.
Alluded to earlier today over at 2K Games' Cult of Rapture fansite, it appears that there is finally some official evidence of the Bioshock downloadable content, that was rumoured to be in the works so many moons ago.

Shacknews managed to wrangle a few less vague details from 2K community manager Elizabeth Tobey on what players can expect out of the new and, more importantly free Bioshock updates. Choice among the fan satisfying improvements will "at least" bring new plasmids into play, an option to disable Vita-Chambers, a cure for any widescreen issues players may have, along with the obligatory "bug fixes".

There was no mention of whether or not the PC version of the Bioshock patch will finally bring official support for Shader Model 2.0 video cards - an issue that caused its fair share of controversy among the other storied Bioshock launch problems in August, and has since brought about unofficial support from the ShaderShock community.

Xbox 360 and PC owners of Bioshock can expect their respectively named title updates/patches/downloadable content to be available sometime next week.

Great timing (Bought Bioshock today)

The more I play it, the more I remember how good it is.

New content for an old singleplayer game? Great, just let me work my way through the dozen great games that have come out since Bioshock was released... I'll get around to it eventually...

I agree with Mr Waffle. I hammered the game with a vengeance and finished it on PC. New plasmids arent really much incentive to go back and do it all again from the beginning. Unfortunately, by the end of the game i was damn sick and tired of hacking.. i was just buying it all out.

It was a great game though, but just has little to go back for in my opinion. If they added new chapters or entire levels, then that would be something else entirely!

Liked I'd ever want to go through the bioshock install process again >_>.

Get back to me once they fix the install and remove the crappy piracy protection (more like piracy promotion if you ask me, most of my friends who bought the game had to pirate it to play it, I would have too if I didn't have other games to play while waiting for securom and 2k to get their **** together and give me a serial that actually works rather than the one I paid for that doesn't).
