Juiced grabbed by THQ

PS2 News | Release date now set for the summer of 2005.
Despite the offers from Take-Two Interactive, and a rumoured bid from the former head of Acclaim, Juiced the once publisher-less, multi-format, street racing game has been picked up by THQ. The game was going to be released imminently before Acclaim's collapse, but now will benefit from extra development time, which is very much needed.

THQ’s Jack Sorensen stated “We are very excited to have secured the rights to this strategic, highly sought after intellectual property. The team is off to a great start and now has the time to build Juiced into one of the premiere brands in street racing."

Juiced release date has been pushed back into the summer of 2005. Expect more news as it breaks from PALGN.

hmmm, well i was looking forwards to this as an intermediatory game while i wait for NFSU2... it looked good enough for that at the very least... now i'm not so sure, especially now its released after NFSU2...

i'll have to wait and see i guess...

Indeed, now that it is being released not only after NFSU2 but next year aswell, this title could fail quite easily. Especially if NFSU 3 gets announced...

Still, with the extra development time THQ could turn this game into quite the awesome street racer. Here's hoping...

I played the demo of this and the demo of NFSU 2 and what I have come up with! Juiced is very unrealistic, I was able to hold the nos button through 3 quarters of a track in a Supra. The sense of speed is alright! Changing gears is unrealistic because you change gears every half a second! What also makes it bad is that I found a lot of the streets are sooo narrow that only a push bike could fit through! The only things I like about it, is the fact that it has damage. If you nock your car around, you get nos leaks and neon damage etc and that you can actually tune your car! <- Though I didn't get to do this in the demo!

NFSU 2 I have loved every single bit of it....the free roaming city, the sense of speed and the physics! The only thing I hate is they say, tune your car and so on, and from what I played of NFSU 1 and heard about NFSU 2 is that you don't really tune your car! All you do is put in some brand name parts....boring! I want to change gear ratios, set the pressure of the tires, fix the down force, etc! A lot like NFSPU (PU=Porsche Unleashed)

To summirse this, I would not bother lookin at this game and what makes it worse, is when its being released!

heh, it's funny... a mate at a car club i'm a member of reviewed the demo and said that the game was much more realistic that NFSU... especially the car physics...

this was a PC demo review mind you so maybe the port has altered some of it...

Mmmmmmm....Interesting.....Well everyone has their own opinions! I guess you will have to try it yourself. But I'm guessing, that a lot of people will just go out and buy NFSU because of NFS franchise and it's coming out sooner than Juiced!!! A lot sooner!

I will be getting both. The demo doesn't do the game justice at all apparently for Juiced so who knows. We will find out next year. icon_smile.gif

As for now... bring on NFSU 2! icon_biggrin.gif
