New Pro Evolution Soccer 5 shots appear

PS2 News | Looks as if Konami has finally secured that elusive Premiership licence.
Four new screens of the forthcoming Pro Evolution Soccer 5 plopped onto our desk this morning, all featuring Arsenal striker Thierry Henry looking dazzling in the new Arsenal home kit for 2005/2006. Monsieur Henry has been signed up as the 'face of the game' for Europe, and is 'delighted to return for the newest version'. 'I look forward to being closely involved with the creation and promotion of what promises to be a stunning game,' said the Frenchman on his way to the bank to deposit his bag of shiny new pound coins.

More interestingly though, judging by the latest shots (that show off Arsenal's kit in all it's official glory), it seems that Konami may have finally secured the rights to use real teams from the English Premiership, a coup they've never previously pulled off in the history of the series. Last year's Pro Evolution Soccer 4 featured the real teams and players from Italy's Serie A, Spain's La Liga and Holland's Eredivisie. This year, it also looks like we won't have to spend any more time playing with 'Merseyside Red' against 'West Midlands Village'. Hurray!

Well, with the premiership license, I have no excuse to drag my feet on buying it this time. Just got PES4 recently (after not having played a PES title since ISS Pro Evolution 2), and I bloody love it.

Good choice Matt - PES 4 is the best in the series since ISS Pro Evolution 2. icon_cool.gif
