Dirge of Cerberus to be online

PS2 News | Square Enix to include an online mode.
Square Enix announced today that their upcoming Final Fantasy VII spin-off, Dirge of Cerberus: Final Fantasy VII, will feature an online gameplay mode via their Play Online network service.

In the online mode, players will assume the role of a soldier that’s part of the Deep Ground, which is the organisation featured in the game’s main storyline. Apparently, the game will include three separate online modes that’ll allow multiple players to tackle various quests together, as well as being able to duel each other.

Square Enix plan to release a beta test for Dirge of Cerberus Online, and will begin accepting beta testers via the game’s official website starting August 1.
