AFL Live 2005 release date

PS2 News | Box art, screenshots, new release date and updated information.
Sony has today given us some more information on AFL Premiership 2005, which is sure to please those of us who are craving our footy fix.

The game will officially be released on August 30th, and has been already been classified 'G' by the Office of Film and Literature Classification. Sony has also stated that there there'll be 692 official players, all 16 teams and eight Premiership seasons. Handy.

The main mode will be the Career mode, and will include trading, the national draft, and player career development. Sounds like it's finally catching up to the American titles. Along with this, the game will also include a bonus 100 Years of Australian Football DVD. We've included the latest sixteen screenshots of the title, as well as the boxart, which are all viewable in the media panel.

... I can't believe you guys got the release date wrong again (especially in an article made specifically for the game's release date). Does this place even have sources or is everything posted on here speculation passed off as news?

Look at the date. That is what we got told by the distributor a week ago, and I believe we and Gamehead have the same release date source.

It probably changed in the last few days, and as such, will be updated on our usual release date articles. This game has constantly slid from tentative release dates from the distributors, it's not our fault. In general, our release dates are among the best in the country.

It's not like we pull these dates out of the air, regardless of what you may believe.

Are you sure about that release date??!!

they were, at the time the article was published. now though it's a September TBC date, according to au.playstation.com if that's a reliable source.

pretty poor effort on the distributors part. i honestly don't see what could be holding the game up for so long.

it's almost no longer worth the effort of releasing it in 2005.

I'd say they decided to release it in the midst of finals fever.

The date is apparantly September 22nd, ironically enough ithink the reason for delay is because the DVD that comes with the game had a manufacturing error, we (and i know for a fact the rest of the press) were sent the DVD (which had official ratings ETC on the cover, so it was ready to go) and it wouldn't play in the PS2, i had to use a DVD-ROM to get it playing.

Never. It's Sony's game. But that's a good thing, since it's terrible.
