Black media update

PS2 News | Stunning new trailer and screenshots from Criterion’s FPS title.
The talented members of EA and Criterion have today unveiled stunning new footage from their upcoming First-person shooter Black, as well as some tasty new details.

EA has confirmed that Black is primary a FPS and will therefore focus only on the shooting elements first and foremost. There will be no squad-commands, nor any of that complicated stealth action found in other FPS titles. Similar to Monolith’s excellent F.E.A.R, Criterion is creating a surreal world where everything fired will have a direct impact onto the surrounding environment. Shoot a bullet into a building and chunks of debris will come flying off.

The intense, frantic action of Black will allow gamers to play as Sergeant First-Class Jack Kellar, a U.S military veteran and Black Ops team member. You’re sent off to Eastern Europe with the task of retrieving a traitor in the middle of a deadly war zone.

All of the action mentioned can be found in the following trailer below and several new screenshots showcasing the insane FPS title. Black is currently scheduled for an early 2006 release on the PS2 and the Xbox.

Wow, one question:
Where is that annoying watermark that would otherwise mar this video?
XD
Good job!

"Shoot a bullet into a building and chunks of debris will come flying off. "

This is the type of realism I was referring to in that thread I created a few weeks ago. Rock on, trust the Criterion boys to behind something I want too. Bring the game on, now my 4th most wanted title.

Looks very good.

Like the rag doll physics on the dead guys and the sound effects are spot on.

I hope there is more to this game than guns and blowing the crap out of everything. Something cohesive to keep it interesting. Otherwise, that looks pretty sweet. Knowing Criterion is behind is definately something that will keep my worries at bay, but until I give it a go, it's just going to be a game where s**t keeps exploding.

Looks great, especially on a ps2/xbox. I'm all up for crazy arcade style shooting, so this is on my wanted list for sure.
