Singstar Legends announced

PS2 News | Redemption.
After the rather lazy Singstar Anthems where Sony pushed out twenty new songs in merely a few months we're pleased to report that the Singstar series looks to be back in form with Singstar Legends officially announced by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today. If you've ever played a Singstar title before then you'll know what to expect although if you happen to have eight microphones handy then you'll also be able to take part in a eight way sing off, which should be chaotic to say the least.

Scheduled for release in November 2006, Sony has also revealed eleven of the songs that will feature on the game and it seems that the soundtrack may just be living up to it's name... The first eleven songs confirmed to be on the compilation so far are:
  • Elton John - Rocket Man
  • The Beach Boys - Surfin' USA
  • The Police - Roxanne
  • Johnny Cash - Ring of Fire
  • The Jackson 5 - I Want You Back
  • Tina Turner - What's Love Got To Do With It
  • John Lennon - Imagine
  • Nirvana - Smells Like Teen Spirit
  • Ben E King - Stand By Me
  • David Bowie - Life on Mars
  • The Righteous Brothers - Unchained Melody
Images of the game should filter through in the next few days so we'll report back once we know more.

These things tend to live or die on their track listings, and so far, Sony has chosen another good one here IMO.

Singstar is so gay, but so awesome at the same time.

And finally a good track listing.
