For WipEout HD, Sony have taken race courses from previous WipEout games and modified them to utilise the graphical capabilities of the PlayStation 3. Similarly, nine music tracks from WipEout Pulse have been remastered in Dolby 5.1 surround sound, while players also have the option of importing their custom play lists from the PS3’s Xross Media Bar. The game will also support the Sixaxis controller’s motion sensing abilities to pilot ships, as well as feature online multiplayer for up to eight players. Additionally, extra game content will be made available to download including new teams and ships, tracks and events for the game’s campaign mode.
WipEout HD will be coming exclusively to the PSN later this year. We’ll report back once official pricing and a release date have been confirmed.
