Haze dated for Australia

PS3 News | Out in a few weeks.
Ubisoft has officially confirmed that Haze will be released in Australia on May the 22nd, 2008. This date has been rumoured for awhile, but to get it directly from the publisher is a great sign.

The company has also released a 4-player co-op campaign demo on the PlayStation Network. The demo allows players to play through a bit of the single player campaign of Haze, as well as letting players experience the drop-in drop-out co-op play online, via LAN or even 2 player split-screen.

I hope this game turns out to be good - it seems like the sort of thing that will either be very average or decisively excellent. The constant delays have me a little worried but hopefully they can pull it off.

Sweet, I only just put my pre-order in with JB HiFi yesterday, so getting it the same day as the rest of the world is a nice change.

Is there any reason to pre-order? Collectors edition, or other bonus junk?

I'd love one of those Nectar hypo pens... pity they were only for the online store.

I don't think there was at JB, I just pre-ordered because I was buying some other stuff, saw the poster and wanted to make sure I got a copy on day 1. The game will sell well, but not sell out, but whatever. I think if you pre-order from EB you get a hat or some other hideous apparel you wouldn't be caught dead in.

Ah, fair enough then... bummer.

No biggie really, I never bother with that stuff anyway. I've got my copy pre-ordered, gets that out of the way. Now all there is to do is wait.

As for whether it will be successful, I think it will. It won't sell out, but I think it'll do well enough to justify a sequel (if they want to make one, that is). The demo was fairly reassuring, so hopefully the actual game is even better. icon_smile.gif

Edit: Well, I'm not an FPS fan myself, I rarely buy FPS games, but there's just something I like about Haze. I haven't played Halo, so if people claim it's a bit of a clone, I'm not complaining.

I thought the demo was terrible. Like Turok earlier this year, it's a no-brainer that fans of the FPS genre will find some value in Haze but it has nothing that rivals CoD4. I'd prefer to replay Resistance.

Yeah demo didnt wow me. Seemed like a Halo clone.

Might get it eventually cheap, but wont be a day 1 purchase for me.

Ouch! The doesn't bode well for Haze, seeing as Resistance was a perfect example of extreme mediocrity winning in the face of no competition...

The demo was crap. The graphics were terrible and it was just an average shooter (so definitely a Halo clone then). Hopefully it was just a very early build, but if the full game looks like the demo, I'll definitely give it a miss.
And EB's pre-order deal is $20 down, $20 off, so after pre-ordering you'll just have to pay $69.95. Dunno where the hat thing came from.
