Saints Row 2 officially classified and dated
PS3 News | Thank the lord.
A number of high-profile games, such as Fallout 3 and Dark Sector, have failed to pass classification in Australia this year (Dark Sector later being reclassified). Thankfully, Saints Row 2 has not joined the growing trend, earning a MA15+ classification from the Office of Film and Literature Classification. The OFLC has cited strong violence, sexual references and course language in its consumer advice for the game.
THQ has confirmed that Saints Row 2 has not been edited for the Australian market, so we will be getting the full, uncut version that the rest of the world will be seeing.
In further news, Saints Row 2 has also earned an official Australian release date. The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 game will be landing on retail shelves on October the 16th, which is less then three months away.
For our impressions of Saints Row 2, head over to our preview from THQ Gamers Day earlier this year.
