Platinum PS3 titles coming down under

PS3 News | And much sooner than you expect.
At a recent media event, Sony Australia have announced that several PlayStation 3 titles will be available for $49.95 on the 4th of August, as part of their 'Platinum' selection.

The titles starting off the platinum train are Motorstorm, Resistance: Fall of Man, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, Heavenly Sword and Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

For the bargain hunting PS3 owners that were anxiously waiting for some of those titles to drop, Monday's the date.

Exactly what I was a thinking. It would be best to snap up the non-platinum ones first if they are available at the same price as they usually fetch a higher price for collecters in the future. But i'm talking if these games ever become "FFXII" like, which they probably won't, but who knows these days, ay.

I already own all the games on the 1st party platinum list though, anymore news on the 3rd party platinums? From memory, RR7, NG Sigma and oblivion were mentioned somewhere.

^That would be the US though. The Sony boys I spoke to mentioned nothing of those, though they said there'll be more soon.

Think i've seen them mentioned in the Europe or American List. I know Sigma is on the American list. and i've seen Assassins Creed listed for Europe too.

Cool, I think I am going to have to pick up all of these games (apart from heavenly sword cuz i already own it). I've been waiting for them to get in the $50 dollar range, especially Uncharted.

Uncharted was on sale (I think it still is) at JB for $40 -

Too bad I have all the games on the list -

Hopefully NG Sigma comes out pretty quick.

Motorstorm, Resistance, Heavenly sword, Lair and Folklore have been retailing around the $50 mark at most retailers though ...

Uncharted has been $40 at JB for months now.

Do they have Platinum consoles? I sure could use a price drop on one of those....

To bad I already own all the games that I want that are now platinum.Besides I hate buying platinum because I hate the covers and the crappy silver platinum discs. That's why I don't own many platinum games at all.I only buy games that I didn't like enough to pay full price for.

Do we know if the discs are silver yet? I don't necessarily mind different covers but disc art means a bit more to me for some reason lol.

Australian retail prices are stupid - $50 isn't a good price for these.. import the US ones that will work fine on your PS3 for $30 USD plus shipping - around $35 from play asia.
