New publisher for Brutal Legend

PS3 News | In limbo no more.
After months of uncertainty following the game's axing from the Activision Blizzard line up (post Vivendi - Activision merger) earlier in the year, anxious gamers can now rejoice as Double Fine Production's heavy metal inspired adventure Brutal Legend has officially found a new home.

The title will now be published by Electronic Arts (through its EA Partners label) when it is released to the masses in 2009.

Double Fine Productions President Tim Schafer, was especially stoked at the news, exclaiming:

"This is awesome news! The quality and creativity of the games EA Partners has been involved with make it a perfect home for our baby, Brutal Legend. Some people were starting to wonder if the saga of Eddie Riggs would ever see the light of day, but now I think it's clear that this game, like Metal itself, cannot be killed!"

No hard release date has been set at this time, but players are expected to be able to rock out with Brutal Legend some time in the second quarter of 2009.

Psychonauts was pretty good. I just hope it doesn't become a commercial flop like Psychonauts.

Was anyone ever worried it actually wouldn't find a publisher?

No one would turn it down (except Activision), because it has Jack Black voicing the main character for god sakes.

EA have been ****ing the dog for years. EA Australia still **** the dingo. There is reason to hate. But of late they have delivered some labradoodles un-despoiled. YOU can't leash Tim Schaffer. EA cant leash Tim Schaffer. Don't let the publisher kill interest in the game, for if they succeed in that then you are the only loser.
