Killzone 2 bargain round-up

PS3 News | Time to go on a bargain killing spree.
While Xbox 360 owners will be lapping up the new Halo Wars this week, PlayStation 3 owners also have something to brag about. That’s right, the highly anticipated Killzone 2 has finally made its way to store shelves, and to celebrate we’ve compiled a list of the current specials that are available across Aussie retailers. Killzone 2 has a suggested retail price of $109.95.

Unsurprisingly most retailers have similar pricing for Killzone 2. The game can be picked up for $88 at Big W, Harvey Norman and Wow – Sight and Sound, while JB Hi-Fi and GAME are charging $1 more. In case your wallet still hasn’t recovered from the mad rush of games at Christmas time, EB Games is offering a trade-in deal where you’ll get Killzone 2 for only $29.95. All you have to do is trade-in two titles that are on their eligible games list. Alternatively, you can get it for FREE at JB Hi-Fi by trading-in three PS3 games that aren't on their exclusions list (.pdf file).

For those of you that lack a PS3 console (shame on you), there are a couple of bundles available that include an 80 GB PlayStation 3 console and a copy of the game. These cost $688 at Dick Smith and Wow – Sight and Sound, or if you don’t have a local store nearby, then $699 at JB Hi-Fi.

For a complete list of bargains please see below. If you have anything to add to this list please leave a message in the comments section or email joseph.rositano@plagn.com.au.

Im slightly disappointed in these pricings. I know I shouldn't complain considering they are around the $90 mark, but come on, not even a JB or Game trade-in offer... And Halo Wars has most retailers selling it at under $80.

edit: lol at Eb's trade in deal

Ah, but Halo Wars costs less. Since the SRP of Killzone 2 costs more ($10), it suggests that the buying price would also be more than Halo Wars. That would probably be the reason for the higher price.

Also, I do know that JB have a new catalogue coming soon. I think it's next week, as I've heard some things about them having a trade-in deal for Killzone 2. Sadly it's not available yet.

So? Who cares about Halo Wars? I'd take K2 over it any day!

The Harvey Norman catalogue I read today said that Killzone 2 was $88 preorder only, and will go back to RRP when it's released.

JB has put up the Killzone 2 trade deal on their website

HN should still sell it for 88 if you didn't pre-order. At least we'll do that for the one I work at. Thats what happened with SFIV; but afaik we've since sold out of SFIV standard ed.

Just picked it up this morning at Big W, it wasn't even on the shelf yet.

sticking it in the ps3 right... now!

Picked it up today with JB's trade deal. All games cost me under $20 so it effectively cost me under $60 for K2 while playing to death and getting my moneys worth of the games I traded in.

The JB trade in deals aren't worth it anymore really.. it's so much easier to pay the $80-$90..

3 ps3 games is asking a bit much when they keep adding exclusions all the time..

Just traded Resistance 2 for KZ2 at JB and got it for $45.00. Why bother with EB anymore ???

Price matched at my local EB and couldn't be happier to pay the $89. Expectations have been surpassed so I know I definitely won't have buyers remorse for lashing out on launch day for once.

Once you master the controls Killzone 2 is amazing. Its graphics are also the best I've seen on a console game. I thought gears of war 2 looked really good, and don't get me wrong it does but Killzone 2 really takes the cake.

Great Game.

Picked it up from JB today after convincing myself that I could put up with the awful feeling controls. Big buyers remorse for me - should have stuck with my opinion from playing with the demo.

^ should have got it from EB; pricematched. Could have just taken it back within 7 days if you didn't like it.

My apologies for not responding to quries sooner. Been a long day. Zhou, thank you for clearing up the HN price, I will keep it in the listings. I will also update the article to include the JB trade-in deal.
