PS3 Fallout 3 DLC coming in September

PS3 News | Broken Steel will come first.
A producer over at Bethesda Studios has said that downloadable content for Fallout 3 will be arriving on the PlayStation 3 in September - much later than the expected June release date.

According to a blog post by Ashley Cheng (spotted by Kotaku), Bethesda are 'hopeful' that the first piece of DLC - Broken Steel, not Operation: Anchorage as first announced - will be released by the end of September. Operation: Anchorage and The Pitt will surface simultaneously soon afterwards, with Point Lookout and Mothership Zeta appearing after that.

The reasoning for the delay? Uh, there wasn't really one given, but Cheng did imply testing had taken longer than planned.

"Keep in mind that not only do we need to test each DLC on PS3, we also need to test each DLC when used in conjunction with each of the other DLC, as well as all of them together, along with the entire original game," explained Cheng.

In the unlikely event that you've never heard of Fallout 3, you're missing out.

Bit of a wait still for PS3 owners then.

Good idea releasing Broken Steel first though.

I guess it would be easier to get the GoTY edition since October is supposed to be the release date. Either they are going to be very very busy testing all the DLC's by October or the PS3 GoTY edition will be delayed.

I have both the ps3 and pc versions of Fallout 3, out of the 4 DLC's to date, Broken Steel and Point Lookout have been the best. Releasing Broken Steel first is a good move, continuing the story and the level cap increase help out. The original game level cap of 20 was way to low.

To all my fellow PS3 owners, don't worry the DLC is worth the wait, I will be there with you playing through when we finally get the release icon_smile.gif

Will these work with a US version of Fallout 3, or will I have to buy from the US PSN?

As much as I loved Fallout 3 and have been looking forward to the DLC, i really can't be bothered with this **** anymore. Especially because there are so many quality releases this X-mas, I'd rather spend my time/money on them then a 2 hour exp. of a year old game from devs that are screwing over PS3 gamers.

Releasing Broken Steel first is a good, yet pretty damn obvious thing to do. I would not have bought any of the other DLC until after Broken Steel had been released anyway.

I traded in my ps3 version for PC so I could get the expansions but never got round to buying a single one.

Well atleast PS3 owners can finally get them if they want to. I wonder if the GTA expansion, the lost and damned will ever go to ps3 cause that was a really fun expansion.
