Oodles of Uncharted 2 units sold

PS3 News | Okay, it's around a million.

Uncharted is expected to be the third fastest selling PlayStation 3 game of all time in America, and is also expected to have the fourth fastest week one sales of any PlayStation 3 game worldwide, according to VGChartz. Preliminary data has found that US preorders for the highly-anticipated sequel had reached nearly 300,000 units with somewhere around half a million units expected to be shifted by the end of the launch week. Worldwide week one sales are expected to be around 1 million units.

The game is in some pretty lofty company, with only Grand Theft Auto IV (selling more than 2.5 million), Metal Gear Solid 4 (almost 1.8 million), and Resident Evil 5 (more than one million copies) having higher worldwide week one sales. By comparison, the original Uncharted sold around 135,000 units in week one. Official data should be in by late this week.

Awesome and righfully so, this game deserves huge sales and is well worth buying a PS3 for.

I love the game, but I think that's taking it a little far. No one game is worth buying a console for imo, it's just too big of an investment. It's a combination of games that make it worthwhile.

Pretty sure I am the only PS3 owner without this game, I may get it...one day for the right price.

Hopefully the sales generated can somehow increase the production speed of Naughty Dog's next game.

I'm so glad Naughty Dog are finally getting the recognition they deserve. Uncharted 2 proves they're the best developers around, tech-wise and everything else-wise.

Yeah, this too. VGChartz are notoriously unreliable and to be honest not worth ever quoting as news. I suspect Uncharted 2 will have sold a million quite easily, but I wouldn't take it as news from VGChartz.

If there is one game worth buying full price this year its this one. Its such an epic game. Perfect single player length and great multiplayer, what more could you want?

I'm glad its selling well.

I've played alot of games (200+ and counting) and I gotta say U2 is one of the best experiences I've ever had in single player, the set pieces alone make every other game look like a joke.

I don't understand how they managed to pull this off in only 18 months, in boggles the mind.
