The game, developed by Silicon Studio and published by Atlus in America, literally looks like an 8-bit game brought into the third dimension using cubes instead of pixels. Your hero is on a quest through the kingdom of Dotnia, with retro-inspired tunes with him along the way, and gameplay that harkens back to days of yore.
Jonathon Hales, managing director EMEAA of SouthPeak Games, is confident of the game's success, and comments, “We’ve been following the progress of the game since it was announced in Japan and are thrilled to have secured the title for Europe.”
Tim Pivnicny, vice president of sales and marketing at Atlus, feels the pain of Aussies who have come to expect release dates which tail those of other regions. “SouthPeak Games is the perfect publisher for 3D Dot Game Heroes," he comments, "They share our enthusiasm for 3D Dot's unique charm and retro appeal, and will work hard to get the game into as many eager gamers' hands as possible. They also recognise the frustration of many Australian gamers to not get exciting releases until months after other regions, which is why we're working closely together to deliver a simultaneous launch worldwide."
