Pre E3 2006: Speedy new Sonic screenshots

PS3 News | The Sonic revival begins.
After what can only be explained as an unforgettable past ten years for Sonic and the crew, Sega are hoping to recreate the Sonic magic in his next-generation debut for the PS3 and Xbox 360 consoles.

The new Sonic breathes new life for the series with Sonic taking on a new look, and with Sega stressing on making the speed of the game just as important as it was in his glory days. The premise of the new Sonic game is a simple one. Some princess, going by the name of Elise has a pretty new chaos emerald. Shockingly, Dr. Robotnik decides to get up to his old tricks and kidnaps the princess and her emerald. It’s up to Sonic to save this princess and fight off the enemies standing in his way, which includes a new rival – a white hedgehog.

The horrid taste of Shadow the Hedgehog still remains, but Sonic’s next-gen adventure is looking promising, which can be seen from the latest screenshots in the media panel. Sega plan to unveil much more on the blue hedgehog at their E3 booth next week. Stay tuned.

Looks awesome. I really didn't mind Sonic Adventure, but the rest after that were a nightmare to play.

This looks good so far.

Looking very good indeed, I've liked all the sonic games so far (including Shadow icon_biggrin.gif ) but not sonic riders, too much licensing, there didn't need to be a sonic racer, I reckon..

Honestly, I liked Sonic Adventure and have always been a Sonic fan, especially the old school platforming games, and Knuckles would have to be my favourite.

I like how Sonic looks next gen, I think it's a step in the right direction. I just hope that this game incorporates the platforming elements well, and the game controls well, because that's the only real issues I've had with the Adventure series.
