Splinter Cell Double Agent confirmed for the PlayStation 3

PS3 News | Will be taking advantage of the SIXAXIS.
Ubisoft has confirmed via a press release that they'll be bringing Splinter Cell: Double Agent to the PlayStation 3 in time for the launch of the console in March.

Ubisoft will develop special features for the PlayStation 3 version, adding multiplayer maps and skins, as well as support for the SIXAXIS wireless controller in single player and multiplayer modes.

“Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent is already a best-seller and has set a new standard for the Splinter Cell series,” said Yves Guillemot, CEO of Ubisoft. “I am sure that Double Agent will prove to be a must-have title for PlayStation 3"

Further information on the game hasn't been revealed, but we expect to hear more next month. As always we'll report back once more information is revealed.

First Assassins Creed, now this. I think someone needs to explain to the guys at Ubisoft what 'exclusive' actually means.

I don't know what the actual figures are, but I suppose SC:DA didn't sell as well as they had hoped.

You two need to learn how to read. 360 losing exclusivity? Zuh? Double Agent has always been multiplatform. It's the next Splinter Cell (5) that is exclusive to 360.

I could've sworn Peter Moore stated SC:DA was a 360 exclusive during X06...

Edit:

17:57:41 - Lots of gravelly voiced stuff from the bloke that plays the President in 24 again. Sam mutters that "no one should have to make these choices."

The movie voice guy drifts into self-parody with talk of "mercenary, SOLDIER, spy, DOUBLE AGENT!!!!" Looks great, though - let's hope it delivers.

Double Agent is EXCLUSIVE to Xbox 360 and Windows.

That's from the Eurogamer live update of X06 conference.

That's great, but it's available now on Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, Wii, PSP, and PC. It is not an exclusive. It is slightly different on 360 (much much better graphics, less missions though) but it is the same core game.

Less missions? Yay for next gen gaming, better graphics for less levels... WOO! Maybe it's just impossible to make a next gen port of a current gen game good.

Its just the shanghai mission, thats is excluisive, cause I dont think they could output the level on current gen or they wanted that extra money for the next gen. Which ever is right.

Yeah, the 360 gets shanghai (amazing looking level) and misses out on one or two totally forgettable (and unnecessary to story development) missions from the Xbox/other versions.
