Time Crisis 4 coming to PS3

PS3 Rumour | The return of the real rail shooter!
Gamedrift has noted that both GameStop and EBGames have placeholders for an upcoming Time Crisis 4 release for the PlayStation 3. Time Crisis 4 was released in Japanese arcades on June 20th last year, but has not yet received a console port.

Based on the placeholder title, it appears that the game will be released with a PS3-based lightgun. While there is clearly no information about whether or not the game will support Sixaxis movement, it seems reasonable to expect that motion detection may be included in the gun. Flick reload and side dodge, anyone?

Arcade games are great fun and a nice change sometimes.

Bring it on.

This just re-affirms my decision to buy a PS3! Time Crisis is one of favorite games... well, of all time. So much money pumped into those machines over the years. Woo!

If only the rumors are only half true and it's actually comming out on the Wii instead, it's already set up for on-a-rail shooters, no need for extra controllers.

As if the Wii can handle the latest arcade games. icon_rolleyes.gif

No gun? No Time Crisis!

I couldn't even imagine playing Time Crisis without a nice, chunky gun peripheral.

Don't worry I'm sure if it was on Wii there'd be a plastic WiiMote enclosure that will give you that light gun feel, but it'd be optional and dirt cheap compared to an actual light gun.

But I understand how you feel, the WiiMote doesn't feel quite right when trying to use it as a gun.

At any rate it doesn't really effect me that much, I've got all "next gen" consoles and the extra $$$ to but a light gun icon_smile.gif, just an slight extra hassel and an extra controller lying around (all my controllers take up more room than the damn consoles icon_sad.gif ).

They should allow people to Use USB guns or they should Make a ZAPPER for the wii.

Now all we have to do is wait for the 360 port/version to be announced.Have light gun games and technology evolved to be able to work wit lcd's yet?

Or plasmas for that matter? I would have thought the constant screen refreshing would cause enormous strain on either of the new screen technologies.

You've been able to get LCD/Plasma compatible lightguns for a while now, so the tech is obviously there - what I want to know is will they finally supply us with one that actually features the kind of force-feedback like the ones in the arcade?
I know you've been able to buy third-party ones for ages (my first light gun, for example) but it'd be really cool if they came standard.

Yeah that would be awesom if they were like the arcade guns, also being bluetooth technology dont expect any cords to hold you back now! Anyone know that game where you can crouch and stuff which made the guy crouch too? that'll be an awesom feature if they included it into the game.

I'd love it if this game comes out. Sure I'd rather it on XBOX360 but hell maybe this and a few other games could justify me buying a PS3.

There has already been a Wii lightgun attachment been announced, but it's been delayed apparently.

looks like the gun from duckhunt

Everything for the Wii is being delayed. That light gun looks nice.

Time Crisis + Next Gen Consoles = Greatness. Still, I can't help but feel that on-rails shooters are less accessible to today's gaming market.

An on-rails shooter designed specifically for the Wii would be 24 carat GOLD, but the chances of that happening are rather slim. I'm sure there will be plenty of FPS's for the Wii when the devs get running, which is some consolation.

EDIT: Also, it's not a light gun... it's just an attachment to combine the nunchuck and Wiimote together, creating awesome one-handed FPS action. Also, it probably won't really exist, EVER. It's really only conceptual.

This is good news indeed. It would be awesome if they did release a Light Gun, they could even package one with the game if the wanted (though I think people would complain, so maybe not). But a Light Gun would still be great. icon_smile.gif

well if they packaged the type of gun from the arcade with the game as a type of premium package maybe?
I thought it was common to package the Time Crisis games on PS2 with a GunCon controller? Maybe that was just done at retail?

On the topic of Wii: Joytech has an offering in the lightgun-shell dept. too - The Sharpshooter, although last time I looked it up it was bright orange and looked more like a full-length double barreled shotgun... I guess that was a mock-up icon_sad.gif

Yeah, it is a shotgun, bright orange and they are selling it on Dstore. Apparently the lightgun shell I mentioned before is being packaged with the Duck Hunt Wii game. I don't know when that's coming out though.

^^ Apparantly, that actually evolved into the Wii Play shooting game. I doubt they would actually release Duck Hunt for the Wii as a seperate game. Also, the Sharpshooter looks pretty cool... it's good that someone decided to implement the idea.
