LGC 07: FIFA 08 5 on 5 online mode not coming to Australia

PS3 News | We boo, we hiss.

Just yesterday it was revealed that FIFA 08 would include a 5 on 5 online mode that would be available to download for free a few weeks after the game has shipped to stores.

EA has unfortunately announced today the "5 On 5 Be a Pro gameplay will only be available in the U.S. and European markets at this stage." This means the company isn't ruling out the possibility of the mode becoming available down the track, but at the moment it looks unlikely.

An EA representative provided the following comment to IGN AU "In regard to playing 5 on 5 in FIFA 08, without a good connection to the server, the result would have been constant drop-offs during Online play that would have booted everyone in the Online Area off at the same time."

I'm a little confused by this, will our versions of Fifa still be able to play others online (other modes) or will we not see any online playability with the new Fifa?

We'll be able to play 1v1 multiplayer just not 5v5.

I don't understand why this is such a technical difficulty. I play Battlefield 2 on 64 player servers in European countries without any problems, why is it so hard to get a 5v5 soccer match going?..

Dude its EA. If they run into a problem, then they leave it that way.Lazy

EA screwing up alot lately. Battlefield patches, 30fps on PS3 madden and now this sigh

It's what every game company should do, kick the average joe in the nuts, then ask them to come back for seconds when fifa 09 comes out. Us neanderthals in the southern hemisphere should be thanking EA that the next release for us isn't fifa97, wankers.
