TGS 07: EA confirms rumble enhanced Sixaxis on the way

PS3 News | Burnout Paradise the first game to contain rumble on the PS3.
While we sit here waiting for Sony's official confirmation that a rumble enhanced Sixaxis will be coming out for the PlayStation 3, EA has accidentally let the cat out of the bag early, by giving journalists in Tokyo a chance to go hands on with Burnout Paradise on the PlayStation 3, complete with rumble.

That is, according to IGN who we're sure got the surprise of their life when they crashed in Paradise and the controller shook. Apparantly the new controller felt heavier than the standard Sixaxis, about the heavyness of a PlayStation 2 controller. Stay tuned to our Sony keynote blog article for official confirmation once Sony Computer Entertainment's Kaz Hirai confirms it.

Check one off my list of PS3 buy prerequisites.

Now all I need is a decent price drop or bundle and I'm boarding the next gen train to Sony-land. Good times...

I'm wanting to know more information now that i think about it for this rumble controller, wonder if it includes the new rumble technology which was discussed a couple of months ago, something about being able to rumble from different parts of the controller depending on the scenario etc.

If they deny rumble now I think there is going to be a revolt...

I almost bought the second controller a month ago. A little voice inside me told me to hold. I'm happy I paid attention.

Now I want a motorstorm update.

I bet the Rumbling SixAxis is going to cost the same as the old one. The old one will be phased out at a reduced price. Just like they did with the 60GB on the US.

Awesome, this is why I haven't bought a second controller. icon_biggrin.gif
