Army of Two delayed until 2008

PS3 News | EA using extra time to perfect game.
Worldwide gaming publisher Electronic Arts has announced that their military third-person shooter Army of Two will be delayed until early 2008 to give its development team more time to perfect the game. Army of Two, currently under development at EA Montreal, was originally slated for release in Australia on November 29 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.

Army of Two, an original EA intellectual property, allows players to assume the identity of a pair of mercenaries carrying out secret missions for a private military contractor. The action game is also primarily designed for co-operative play.

"Army of Two has potential to become a lasting EA franchise – so getting the first title right is essential," head of EA Games Frank Gibeau said in a statement to Reuters news service.

Gamers need not despair at the delay as Electronic Arts is still on course to release their other flagship title Need for Speed: ProStreet next month. Other heavy-hitting titles vying for our attention (and dollars) in November include Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4 and Guitar Hero 3.

Thats a good idea. As the games is looking pretty cool but i think it would have gotten lost in the crowd with all the other A++ titles if they released it now. Plus i have heaps of other games i need to play as well.

You know it's going to be a massive November when a game gets delayed and people are glad about it icon_wink.gif
And I'm one of em, I like the concept of Army of Two; being a big fan of co-op games, but if this came out next month I'd probably not pick it up. Now it's coming out a bit later I think theres more chance of myself and others giving it a look, plus a few months of polish can't be bad

EA delaying a game: this is amazingly good news, hopefully it will become a regular thing (only when it needs to happen of course).

This is my most anticipated game. I want to buy it as soon as possible...

Should I buy the US version on PS3 or should I wait the extra few weeks afterward to buy the AU version? Do you think online play would suffer much from buying the US version?
