Army of Two, an original EA intellectual property, allows players to assume the identity of a pair of mercenaries carrying out secret missions for a private military contractor. The action game is also primarily designed for co-operative play.
"Army of Two has potential to become a lasting EA franchise – so getting the first title right is essential," head of EA Games Frank Gibeau said in a statement to Reuters news service.
Gamers need not despair at the delay as Electronic Arts is still on course to release their other flagship title Need for Speed: ProStreet next month. Other heavy-hitting titles vying for our attention (and dollars) in November include Mass Effect, Call of Duty 4 and Guitar Hero 3.
