Formula One 2006 announced

PSP News | Play online cross-platform.
Sony has announced that Formula One 2006 is currently in development for the PlayStation 2 and the PSP. The Formula One games are normally fairly standard titles, but they're still enjoyable games.

The newest addition to this series will be the ability to play online cross-platform, so someone owning the PSP version can play online against someone owning the PlayStation 2 version. We're not exactly sure how this will work but the idea certainly sounds promising at least.

The game is currently set for release in June and contains all the drivers, tracks and teams from the 2006 season. There is a playable 18 race Season mode (playable online) as well as classic F1 cars to unlock. We'll have more information on Formula One 2006 as soon as it becomes available.

EDIT:

The newest addition to this series will be the ability to play online cross-platform, so someone owning the PSP version can get completely owned by someone owning the Playstation 2 version, when their WIFI signal starts to crumble.

Hmm... classic F1 cars... I wonder will we allow to use 2005's V10 against 2006's V8?? I'd pick V10 over V8 anytime:)

so this means that some one in Aus would be able to play agaist any one in the world? do you think it would be able to support 20 or 22 racers at one time in a single race? or would it be some kind of best lap time system?

Why? Tune it right and you'll be basically matching the times that the V10s achieved anyway...
