E3 2006: Real MGS PSP title confirmed

PSP News | Happy now?

Several days ago, we heard whisperings of a new PSP Metal Gear Solid title was on the way. Well, the Konami press conference had the official confirmation. This game will be known as of Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops. PSP owners rejoice!

The game's storyline is set before the original Metal Gear and after Snake Eater. Players will again take control over Big Boss, and there will be some squad-based elements. It'll feature some sort of online play and is scheduled for release late this year. There aren't anymore concrete details beyond this.
