Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 announced

PSP News | Coming to both the PSP and the DS.
Atari have announced that Asterix and Obelix XXL 2 is currently in development for the PSP and the Nintendo DS. Both versions will be different from each other and will take advantage of the hardware capabilities of the Nintendo DS and the PSP.

The PSP version will include a two player wi-fi mode. It will be possible to pick just about any character from the Asterix universe and battle them against each other. The Nintendo DS version will add touch screen control as well as some touch screen mini games. Wi-Fi multiplayer will also be in the DS version, so it seems like the DS version will be better value.

We haven't been able to obtain any images yet, but Atari did send us a bit of artwork (looks like someone took my suggestion about parodies in games seriously - Ed.). Both versions of the game are currently set for release in November - we'll have more information on the Gauls' latest outing shortly.

Not interested...unless the game is based on that brilliant Asterix live action movie that was on telly a while back icon_wink.gif
