Valkyrie Profiles: Lenneth, which is scheduled for an April 27 release for the PlayStation Portable, is a port of Enix’s highly regarded PSone game, Valkyrie Profile. The original release never managed to make its way to PAL regions, despite the critical acclaim it received in Japan and America. For its PSP re-release, the game includes full motion video, replacing or adding to current scenes in the game, and a much cleaner localisation.
Meanwhile, Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria is a prequel to Valkyrie Profile that takes place hundreds of years before Lenneth’s tale, focusing on Valkyrie Silmeria, who was banished into a mortal body by the god Odin. The general reception from American gamers has been positive, yet acknowledges the steep learning curve involved in the RPG title. Valkyrie Profile 2: Silmeria will be released on the PlayStation 2 during Winter 2007 (or Summer for our European readers).
