Silent Hill Origins screens/videos emerge

PSP News | Handheld debut for horror franchise edging closer.
We haven't heard anything from Konami regarding Silent Hill Origins on the PSP for, ooh, aaaages, so the new media that lurched into our inbox this morning, including screenshots and videos, provided a thoroughly pleasant surprise.

The first handheld title in the series, Origins follows a solitary truck driver, Travis Grady, who gets stuck in the titular town while making a routine delivery, and swiftly learns that the locals aren't quite "all there". To complicate matters, the beleaguered Grady is confronted by troublesome memories from his childhood.

As was the case with previous Silent Hill games, there's probably loads of spooky kids and psychotic zombie nurses involved somewhere along the line, and we'll probably have to have the lights on while playing again, and maybe music playing really loudly in the background - something happy to remind us that everything is really going to be OK.

Pop over to the Media Panel for the latest screenage, and check out the two new videos of gameplay footage below.

Silent Hill Origins Video 1 [10.5MB, 40 secs]
Silent Hill Origins Video 2 [10.6MB, 40 secs]

I think the barricade system was great, shame it was cut. Dont know how well its gonna play considering they lost Team Silent. I think its gonna be below average silent hill game.
