Turok demo released on Xbox Live

360 News | Try it now.
The demo for Turok has been released on the Xbox Live Marketplace. The demo comes in at 1.17GB and will let gamers get a taste of the game which had us so excited last year.

As usual, only gold users will be able to download the demo for about a week or so. Turok is set for release next month on both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3. The title is sort of a reboot for the Turok franchise and development on the game has just finished up at Propaganda Games.

Will there be a demo released for the PS3? I really want to try this out before I consider getting it...

*Does dance* Woo-Hoo!

Very excited about this game.

Been downloading it for many many hours now and it's going horrifically slow.

*sigh* I HATE Xbox Live.

^^ I'd be hating my ISP more, only took me about 20 minutes.

Looks like a pretty cool game to me, but it's not a huge priority. If I have extra cash floating around when it comes out I'll probably pick it up (the PS3 version tho, unless the port is terrible) if only to get the chance to fight a massive T-rex (I was such a dinosaur geek when I was little).

Tried the demo... wasn't too impressed.

Pro's:
-The ambient Dino ecology could be a cool feature
-The weapons system
-This game has Dinosaurs in it

Con's:
-Typical shiny graphics we've seen time and time again. I'm getting so sick of UE3...
-Bald Space Marines
-Knockdown from Dino attacks gets very annoying
-Motion blur is distracting

I'm going to have to give it a pass. I had high hopes for this icon_sad.gif

The game rocks. There's nothing like taking out a dino with a knife or blowing one up with the sticky grenade.

I've completed the game & it's relentless from the opening scene right to the end. The 3rd person knife kills are brutal & bloody. U never get bored of them icon_smile.gif

The term they use in the game for blowing-up dinos is called "Meat Fountain" rolf!

Finally got the demo. I love it yet it's not absolutely mind blowing in any way. Stabbing things in the head never does get old really.

Is the PC version still on track for release alongside the consoles or is it delayed?

I'm the PR dude for Funtastic Interactive, distributor of Turok so I've seen/played numerous development builds of Turok, including final (retail)

Online multiplayer is CRAZY with having to deal with dinos as well!!!!

PC version was never going to be released at the same time as the console version. It will be a couple of months b4 we see it unfortunately, & that's world wide, not an Australian thing.

A damn shame.
