Skate outsells Tony Hawk 2-1

360 News | How it should be?
When Skate was released late last year we loved it, but weren't too sure whether the Tony Hawk franchise would pull in more gamers due to its name.

Well, in a recent conference call for EA, EA CFO Warren Jensen said that Skate outsold Tony Hawk in the region of "Two to One". Jensen continued by stating that the sales are even more impressive, despite the fact the game launched "on three fewer platforms" than Tony Hawk's Proving Ground. So, will the sequel be out by the end of the year? Probably, we'll let you know when EA confirm it.

Good on it. That'll teach Neversoft to get lazy.

Who would have thought it would be EA to provide the fresh competition to potentially kickstart a stale and milked out franchise.

I for one welcome our new skating overlords

But in all seriousness, the Tony Hawk series has been getting more and more sloppy since Tony Hawk Underground and they have been getting harder and harder to play, which is fine for veterans of the series but what about new players?

Good to see someone put Neversoft on notice. I agree with Capoeria, its kind of odd putting EA and fresh in the same sentence... almost unsettling
