The game is a remake of the 1980's arcade game, obviously inspired by the cult film. In the game, players line up against Sark, the dastardly villain from the film, and try to knock him off his platform by flinging discs at him. There are a few different ways to play the game, such as aiming for a high score, or trying to knock Sark down in record time. Multiplayer also gets a good look, with a co-op mode (complete with leader board) as well as a versus mode.
Making things more interesting is an 'enhanced mode', which, as you would expect, turns up the graphical splendor from the original, as well as giving the audio a bit of extra kick. Purists - should they exist - can also choose to play the game in all its original glory.
But that's not the only game coming this Wednesday. Commanders: Attack of the Genos will also be headed our way. It's a little turn-based strategy game, where players will have to fight off the genetically enhanced army known as, erm, Genos. The game will feature both extensive single (two endings, fifteen missions) and multiplayer (team play or skirmish) options.
Discs of Tron will set players back 400 MS points come Wednesday, while Commanders comes will cost 800. We've thrown some screen shots of the updated version of Discs of Tron into the media panel for your viewing pleasure.
