Laying the smackdown on Crackdown

360 Rumour | According to EGM, Crackdown has been put down.
While in recent weeks Microsoft has been hinting at the possibility of future installments for Crackdown, the latest issue of US gaming mag EGM (via 1up) has other news. According to the magazine's rumour column - and we do stress the word rumour - even if Microsoft's plan to produce a sequel does come to fruition, it's highly likely that it won't happen for a very long time. The real kicker is, though, that it's also almost a certainty that developer Realtime Worlds will not be on board for another addictive orb-hunting adventure (especially as they announced in September last year that they would not be returning on the sequel).

Looks like we'll have to keep our eyes fixed squarely on Realtime World's next project, APB to keep our minds of the orb collecting, citizen tossing fun of Crackdown.
