Fable 2 compatible games coming to XBLA

360 News | Earn gold that can be used in-game.
It has been reported that the hotly anticipated title Fable 2 will be compatible with three future XBLA releases, including Mage Dice, Wizard's Tower and Keystone. When players download and play these games, they'll be able to earn gold which can then be used in the massive RPG.

"The idea is this: Carbonated Games, part of Microsoft, have made some great casual games, Arcade titles. They have got three titles, one called Keystone, one called Wizard's Tower and one called Mage Dice. Why not make those what we call 'Fable-compatible'?" says Peter Molyneux from Lionhead.

"And that means, those semi-gambling games, when you play those games, if you win, you win Fable gold, and you can transfer that Fable gold to Fable when you buy Fable. If you've already got Fable, the money will transfer automatically. If you've yet to buy Fable then your balance will be transferred. That's cool."

It certainly sounds interesting if it works, and could certainly inspire fans of Fable 2 to purchase these XBLA games just to make their in-game wallet grow. No release date on the XBLA titles has been given, but we are still expecting Fable 2 to be released later this year.

Sounds like an interesting feature, I wonder what the three XBLA games will be like though. Can't wait to get into Fable 2 regardless!

I just hope that if you've paid for Fable 2 then you won't have to buy the arcade games again to be able to play them.

While that would be nice, I don't see any reason for them to include the games in Fable 2. They're like a mini-addon to the game, and they'll probably get no sales if they come packaged with Fable 2.

Plus if they're separate, you can just buy the ones you want. By the sound of it they're just little 400MS games, so no big deal really.

Good idea, i reckon there should be more features like this.

Really, whether this is or good or not depends entirely on the games themselves...
If they are good, this is a really clever and cool feature
If they are bad, this is just another way to milk the cow...
