Is it just me or is this game really draggggggggggggging on for the release.

I watched so many trailers and dev diaries it feels as though I've finished the game already.

I have a bad feeling this will be crap. Couple of reasons:

Look at the ambition on this game and how long have we know about it's development? 1 year? 1 and 1/2 at most? OK sweet.... now lets think about who are developing it? Eden right? Ok what is their track record? The V-Rally series! They also made Test Drive: Ulimited which was quite solid....but really nothing there that gives me faith they can pull this off.

Now lets look at Capcoms development time on Resident Evil 5 which has less ambition and are being made by veterans of that genre, we've know about it for probably the same amount of time 1 year to 1 1/2 years and that's coming out sometime in 2009.

I know those are a bunch of loose comparisons and they probably don't mean a damn thing, but as awesome as I want Alone in the Dark to be, realistically I think we're dreaming if this game is anything more than average. Bit of a dilema for me cuz I want to pre-order to make sure I get the awesome special edition, but I really don't want to bother with the game if it's nothing short of awesome.

any chance of being "Games for Windows" and therefore having Xbox 360 controller support?

I'll give it a go, but I'm very sceptical of it. From what I've seen it does seem to do a lot of nice things, but if it works well with you when playing is yet to be seen.

It's not high on my list though. Too many games coming out to put it up high.

i really want this game to be high on my priorities, but really, i'm not sure.

i loved the original AITD back in the day. i'm a huge fan of HP Lovecraft, so it was pretty much bliss (well, terror, but in a blissful way). but the more recent games haven't been anything special, even ditching the Lovecraft connection.

i really hope it's good.

Yeah, I'm hoping this turns out good too.

Sadly I'm feeling the same as the rest of you and it seems to be lacking a coat of polish from the video's I've seen. That and it does seem to be stupidly over-ambious. We'll see how it turns out.

This and Dead Space are the two games I have my fingers crossed for turning out good cause they look to have awesome settings/stories.

BTW I haven't seen any videos or even screens of this games since Zarnoss showed me the 'sticky tape' video.....the one where the guy is standing in some sewer and he chucks like a blood pack onto the enemies, then he does the same with some sticky tape etc ages ago.

I just have a bad feeling and I know the history.

That goes for Dead Space too.

I've only watched the video that Ugh is describing.
I really want this to be good, i mean, i haven't played a really good adventure game on the PC for ages now. Not since i finished Psychonauts for the second time.
Yes i know, there are a lot, but none that have really captured my attention as being different and special. Oblivion was supposedly excellent, but it just struck me as doing the medieval/fantasy thing well, but still that same thing.

The genre is my favourite but sadly my expectations are very low. I mean come on, what are we driving cars in this game for?

Hope it turns out well but I dunno...

Meh, wasn't all that interested in the title anyway icon_razz.gif

Cars?!?! hahahah! Yea case closed! I didn't know it had cars, but that's gotta be crap!
