I hope this game makes a PAL release. If it didn't it wouldn't be the first Tri-ace game that didn't come out here.

I'll be getting this game ^^. Really for me this is a must purchase.

Looks like pretty much every other JRPG to me.

Looks awesome! It's great to see the 360 getting so many JRPG's, Tales of Vesperia, Star Ocean 4, The Last Remnant and this.

It looks like a mixed bag. The voice action and lip sync are very nasty and the characters look very plain.

But a few of those shots where the characters are exploring look incredible.

Hrmmm, hopefully it turns out to be a winner!

Seems like it will. From Team Xbox:
Quote
London (10th June 2008) – Square Enix Ltd., the publisher of Square Enix® interactive entertainment products in Europe and other PAL territories, today announces three new RPGs for the Microsoft Xbox 360™ system that will be released across all PAL territories beginning with INFINITE UNDISCOVERY™ on 5th September 2008 and followed by THE LAST REMNANT™ and STAR OCEAN®: THE LAST HOPE™. All three RPGs will be globally released in 2008-2009.

These games were always going to be released everywhere.

You wouldn't see square-enix/tri-ace release a game to piss-poor userbase of around 500,000 concoles would you?

I am a PS3 owner and a JRPG fan and I seriously cannot seem to figure out what they Japanese companies are smoking?
I mean it's good to see a variety of games on a variety or consoles(360 included) but for goodness sake they are alienating so much of their japanese fanbase by releasing games like these exclusively on the 360.

Obviously this is another attempt by Micrsoft to gather a larger fanbase in japan but as long as Final Fantasy XIII(cue discussion regarding exclusivity) remains a PS3 exclusive I just don't see japanese gamers flocking to the 360.
If this attempt doesn't work for microsoft I think it's pretty much over for them in japan.

I still want to know what an Infinite Undiscovery is. Seriously, why do all these JPGS have to have incomprehensible names? What is a Star Ocean? That wasn't the Final Fantasy, it was #12! And what exactly is a Monster Hunter...? ... Well, I guess that's someone who hunts monsters. But anyway.

I might as well go off and make a series of RPGS called Obstinent Fates. It means nothing and nobody would would bat an eye.

I thought the same way fatpizza. Thats what my excuse was for getting a ps3. I thought i can't wait for all the rpgs to hit the ps3. ATM 360 has had all the good rpgs. Hopefully rpgs will come on the ps3 this year icon_sad.gif.

I haven't played any of the Star Oceans before, and I only just discovered what it means from watching the latest trailer. Apparently they are referring to space. Space is an Ocean of Stars.

And about the 360 getting all the JRPGs..... Where are all the JRPGs for the PS3??? I'm mainly a 360 gamer, so I need these JRPGs on PS3 so I don't have to share the 360 with my wife =p.

She's really looking forward to FFXIII so I hope it doesn't disappoint and isn't too complex in the combat system (she enjoys traditional turn based)

Attracting japanese gamers aren't flocking to the 360, but that's only half the purpose of these widely released JRPGs. JRPG makers want to make more money by getting their games/brand name out to as many people as possible, which they would achieve by releasing worldwide/for the 360.

It's difficult for them. Japan is a Nintendo/Sony stronghold. When I went over there I didn't see a single 360 product on the shelves of the department stores (but a niche shop did, one of those specialised comic/manga/anime/book shops. It even sold N64 and PS1 games).

Exactly right on the Star Ocean front, it's space. As the game has a focus on interstellar travel (to fuel it's plotlines moreso than actually participating).
