Guilty Gear and Spyro to become Xbox Originals

Monday will see the addition of two brand new additions to the Xbox Originals list on Xbox Live in the form of Guilty Gear X2 #Reload and The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning.

We reviewed Guilty Gear X2 #Reload - a 2D fighting fest - way back in 2004 and thought it was rather spectacular, featuring twenty characters, incredibly impressive anime-inspired visuals, online fighting and balanced gameplay. Our opinion hasn't changed in the slightest.

Spyro: A New Beginning, on the other hand, is somewhat less interesting. At the time, we thought it was a solid, if uninspired, platform romp aimed at kids - and unlike the above, it hasn't aged anywhere near as gracefully.

If you're interested, expect to shell out 1200 MS points for each of them come Monday.

According the the Xbox AU Backward Compatibility list, GGX2 still isn't supported. Don't tell me I'm going to have to rebuy a game I already own just to play it.

Does anyone know if there is someplace we can harass M$ to say "I want this game on Xbox Originals!"??

Totally agree with you there, Mashed was an awesome multiplayer game. Didn't know it still wasn't backwards compatible, because it definitely should be.

Might have to pick up Gulity Gears. That's a nice little edition to the retro server. Can we have Street Figher 3 now?

Do you mean Street Fighter Anniversary (which has Thrid Strike on it)? Cuz you can already play that over Xbox live on the 360 or do you want the whole game to get this porting treatment?

I've got a spare sealed copy.

You are correct X2 is not supported here, it is in the states apparently (dont have a US copy) but yes X2 Reload for Xbox does not work on a 360.

I am pissed too but I may rebuy it.
