3D Realms' George Broussard has confirmed that an Xbox Live Arcade port of Duke Nukem 3D has been completed and has today passed Microsoft's certification process, meaning that a release for the title is now imminent.

Broussard commented that the title's release "is now in the hands of Microsoft" and suggested that the game will carry a price point that is "about what you'd expect."

The leaked achievement list suggests that the title will single-player and multiplayer components with achievement entries citing co-op play through the campaign as well as the inclusion of the online 'Dukematch' game mode.

PALGN will keep you informed as more information comes to light on when we will be able to 'hail to the king'.

For 800 points I would buy this game in an instant. Doom was one of my favorite games to replay on the 360 and I'm sure this would also be just as fun as it used to be.

When Slashdot reported this, they mistook it for Duke Nukem Forever. The comments section when ablaze with anger after their hopes were dashed. It was quite funny.

Hell yeah, I loved Duke 3D. Who didn't smile when they dropkicked the dude's eyeball through the goal posts, pure bliss.
