As many of you would know, Saints Row 2 is available on the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, with a PC version also scheduled to be released in a few weeks. This Bargain round-up covers the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions only. Saints Row 2 is available in three different packs: a standard edition, a limited edition, and the EB Games exclusive Initiation Pack. The standard edition retails for $109.95 and is just the normal game disc and case. The limited edition costs $129.95 and contains a copy of the game, an artbook and a 1GB USB key that features themes for your PS3 or Xbox 360 console. Finally, the Initiation Pack retails for $149.95, and includes a copy of the game, an artbook, Saints Member ID card, money clip, basketball singlet, Saints Row rule book and an EB Games voucher.
Unsurprisingly, sale prices for the standard edition are very similar across most retailers. Big W are charging $88, while Kmart and JB Hi-Fi are both selling it for a solid $89. Despite this being a saving of $20, those wanting the limited edition won’t be so lucky. Currently, JB Hi-Fi is offering the limited edition for $124, only $6 less than the recommended retail price. Unfortunately, there are no other specials concerning the limited edition or Initiation packs.
With rising petrol prices and the global economy crisis, it’s likely many of you aren’t appeased by the $89 price tag for the standard edition. Never fear though, as there are currently two different trade-in deals available. The first one is at JB Hi-Fi, where you can get Saints Row 2 for FREE when you trade-in three PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 titles – just remember to read their exclusions list (.pdf file) before heading in to your local store. The second deal is at EB Games, who are offering the game for $19.95 when you trade-in two eligible PlayStation 3 or Xbox 360 games. For a list of the eligible games, click here.
