Australia and NZ getting Resi Evil 5 CE

Capcom's new distributor in Australia and New Zealand, THQ, has confirmed that both countries will be getting their grubby little mits on the Resident Evil 5 collector's edition.

And it's a pretty hefty collector's edition at that, with a plethora of extras RE fans are sure to love. Aside from the game - which will come in a steelbook case, of course - there will be a 3 inch Chris Redfield figurine, a Kljuju necklace, a BSAA clothing patch and a Tricell messenger bag to carry the bounty in. There will also be the obligatory bonus disc, with an hour long making-of feature, as well as a trailer for the next Resident Evil film, Degeneration.

It won't come cheap though, with a recommended retail price of AUD $169.95. Ouch. There is also a 'limited edition', which will just include the bonus disc and steelbook case, coming in at a cheaper AUD $129.95.

THQ suggests pre-ordering though, as the company suspects that they will sell out quite quickly when the game launches on the 13th of March.

Just use a 15% off voucher at EB, takes about $25 off it. Takes it down to $144, not bad for all the extras.

Some retailers may also have a limited supply of 3 different 7" figures (chris, the chick and an executioner looking dude) that will be given away to customers for free! *wink wink*

I shouldn't really buy it but I don't like standard editions when there is a big CE so I'm going to buy it anyway.

i'm a whore for CEs, but i had actually made my mind up to cancel my pre-order after the debacle of a demo.

yeah - biut no figurine ...

I'd rather go for the AU version with the figurine alongside my street fighter 4 figurines, big daddy etc...

Argh, was looking forward to this game and would have bought the collectors ed but I've played the demo

. Worst controls ever IMO, and just to "sweeten" the deal worst FOV ever

. Not to mention the whole fast zombies in cutscenes, shamblers in game thing.
Failed game IMO.

Failed game IMO.

1. The controls are designed like that for a reason. It heightens the stress. It's a Resident Evil tradition. Also this is a survival game, not your arcade over the shoulder action that is GOW. Panic is required.
2. They aren't "Zombies", so they can shuffle, walk, run or do the moonwalk for all i care.
3. Not a failed game at all IMHO.

upgraded my preorder at EB from a limited edition to a collector's edition. asked the guy about the 15% voucher - that will work as well...
Also getting HAWX for $69 on the same day as this ... price matching to JB's preorder deal...
