Halo Wars sells one million

360 News | Becomes best selling console real-time strategy title.
Microsoft has announced that sales of Halo Wars has hit more then one million units worldwide, making it the best selling real-time strategy game on any current generation console.

Microsoft’s press release contained other interesting tidbits about the title, such as the fact that 2.6 million multiplayer matches have been played, taking up 118 years of time.

Also interesting is the mention of the newly formed studio Robot Entertainment. Comprised of ex-members of Ensemble Studios, it seems they are preparing upcoming downloadable content for Halo Wars.

Assuming the console bundles with Halo Wars are included in the million?

Nothing against Halo or anything, I always figured it would sell big.

Funny story though, saw some European homies at EB tonight wanting to return Halo Wars because "it flat out doesn't work... ummm can we swap it for another game?"

At which point the EB guy tried not to laugh and said: "It doesn't work? It was brand new. OK bring it and we can swap it for another copy of the same game."

"But can we just swap it for another game or trade it in or sumfin?"

It was awesome to watch. Very much not their kind of game it seems.

So yeah, Halo Wars, icon_y1.gif and stuff!

not surprised really, considering Microsoft did sell the free game with 360 deal as a soft bundle, therefore adding to the amount of copies sold. I'm sure there are people who think it is great, but for me, it just ain't my kind of game, console RTS never really works out for me

they only count sold, not traded in 1st week or returns. Just like many other games to hold this title.
