More Marvel vs. Capcom 2 evidence

360 News | New line of fight pads coming out for Xbox 360, PS3.
Adding to the mounting evidence of a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 release for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are a new line of fight pads available for pre-order, spotted by posters at NeoGAF.

Listed for a release date of the 17th of July at CD WOW, the fight pads listed have four different artworks among the two platforms, including Hulk vs. Zangief, Spider-Man vs. Strider, Iron Man vs. Megaman and Wolverine vs. Ryu. The actually design of the pads are unknown at the moment, but a price is listed at AUD $62.95.

The pads are another sign that hopefully Capcom will confirm the release of Marvel vs. Capcom 2 in the future.

Iron Man vs. Megaman
Yes! Just yes! Gimme gimme gimme!

MvC2 remains as one of the few 2d fighters that I ever really got into, largely because of the roster (Megaman and Tronne Bonne <3), and I would dearly love to see it get a faithful release (too much to hope for a HD touch-up in the vein of SF2 I fear) on XBLA/PSN.

Sadly, there is almost no reason at all to have a Dreamcast anymore. RIP.

This with online play is pretty much my dream. I just hope they have the same system of unlocking all the characters because it gives the game some serious legs.

So is this a Marvel vs. Capcom 2 HD Remix (ala SSFIITHDR)or just a port of the old code?

Grim-one, I suspect just a port with online multiplayer. I would've expected more hype if it was a Remix... but here's hoping I'm wrong.

It won't be an 'HD Remix', I can almost guarantee that - the sheer volume of characters, and the crazy amount of animation for each one, puts that into the realm of unpossible. If simply giving SFII Turbo a deft HD touch takes this long, MvC2 would take 3-4 times as much work.

But if was to happen I'd be first in line with cash in hand on release day.

I just hope they keep that awfully catchy (and awfully awful) char select music in there... "I'm gonna take you for a ride... I'm gonna take you for a ride..."

Ohh, interesting fight pads. I'm sure this further buries the hope that many people somehow still have for a MvC3.

If they work on a 360/ps3 I don't see why you wouldn't be able to. I mean hell you could play SF4 with the Drum kit from rockband if you wanted to... you'd just suck.

hmmmm, if there was a way to integrate the foot pedal into movement, i would love to see 2 people go head to head at Street Fighter, both on drum kits........drunk.

I only have access to one drum kit, but I'm prepared to go head to head with my mate on drums and guitar at SF 4 drunk...

... for science of course.
