Virtual On hits XBLA this week

360 News | Dreamcast cult classic graces the arcade.
According to the folks at Sega, Wednesday's brand new entry to the Xbox Live Arcade will be Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram.

Cyber Troopers Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram version 5.66 - as it is officially known - sees players take control of a giant mech, which is always a lot of fun. There's a lot of bad mechs to shoot at too, which adds greatly to the fun factor. As you'd expect, there are plenty of parts that can be upgraded to make the mechs even more powerful and destructive than you would think a giant robot could be. Nice.

Virtual On: Oratorio Tangram was first released almost ten years ago in Japanese arcades and on the Dreamcast, which received generally positive reviews. The arcade version came complete with a rather impressive dual-stick setup, though it looks as if players will have to make do with the Xbox 360 controller for this version.

If you're keen to get your Virtual On, uh, on, the game will come at the cost of 1200 MS points.

Always wanted to get it, but the language barrier kept me back - no longer an issue. Win!

Pity there isn't a VO dual stick setup for the 360 icon_smile.gif

used to love the arcade game, so will definitely have to DL the trial to see if it still holds up.

It's a bit pricey but considering the number of Virtual On toys I've bought over the years not too bad. Look forward to trying it out.

here is one pretty dodgy way to get a proper dual stick controller.

That is the coolest hack I've ever seen icon_razz.gif The Xbox 360 controller isn't to bad for it - at least it has 2 sticks unlike the Dreamcast controller! I think I'll pick it up as I've played it a few times and I'm a sucker for Sega games from that era!

I loved the arcade game, so I cannot wait to get this.

I'm just hoping someone releases a stick for it...

I don't see how it'll be a problem in teh 360
Dual analog sticks w/ the triggers to fire, unless I missed something having only played the original VO.

I'm not planning on settling for just the control pad. I'm in the process of constructing my own twin sticks so I can play this game the way it was meant to be played.

Excellent, I wonder if they'll add any more Dreamcast classics.
Toy Racer, Chu Chu Rocket come to mind. Those were pretty cool games. I liked em anyway.
